Quick update on our life over the last few months:
After Daniel finished his internship in Canada at the end of March, we moved back to the states during the first weekend in April. We drove 11+ hours through the night hoping that Owen would sleep during most of the drive. We got lucky and he did snooze most of the trip. Within the week that we left Canada, I snapped a few more shots of Owen enjoying a few new things:
Blowing bubbles
Swinging in his bouncer
We took a full day to pack everything we could into our one and only car. Daniel strapped Owen's mattress to the roof and some luggage to the top of the boot.
This is how we drove for 11 hours through the night, Montana wilderness and Canada/America border. I'm so glad they didn't decide to do a random search on our car. The passenger's seat was completely filled, so when we weren't driving, we were stuffed in a tiny little opening next to Owen in the back seat. Comfy ride!
We were totally trashed when we finally got to Rexburg (where the rest of our stuff was in storage), so we napped at the hotel off and on while trying to entertain Owen.
Owen enjoyed the view from our hotel window at the classy Super 8
We visited with the Pronks, Jolleys and Johnsons while in Rexburg for a few hours to say our goodbye's. Although we're glad to be leaving Rexburg, we'll miss the friends we've loved hanging out with for the last few years!

Me, Hunter and cute, preggo Haley (although you can't tell at this point!)

The most amazing and sweet Mom/Friend/Person in the world...is on the left!
I love this picture of Haley and Hunter. :)
Once we arrived to Utah, we had a fun Easter get together with the family. All of the grandkids had an egg hunt and Owen was satisfied with just chewing on one of the eggs.

I think he'll be more excited next year when he figures out there's candy inside
In April, Daniel flew to Texas for interviews with a few oil companies and he is being considered for a position as a Production Engineer with Talisman Energy. Long story short: They told him they want him for the position, but they can't offer him the position until it's approved. While we've been waiting for the approval, we have tried to enjoy Utah and living close to family for the first time in our marriage.
Strolling around Mt. Timpanogos Temple almost exactly 3 years after we were married there
My guys forever :)
On our 3 year anniversary, Daniel went golfing with my brothers in the morning and I went on a hike to the "G" with Sarah, Nate, Mom, Janie, Noah, Zach, Corbin and Sam.
Everyone was excited at the trailhead and that excitement died about 20 yards later at the first uphill climb
Daniel and I have gone on several hikes with Owen, so he was happy taking in the scenery!
Janie, me and Owen...haha.. His face looks devastated but it was just super windy.

While we have been in Utah, we've been living at my dad's while he's in ND. We've had plenty of down time to play and have fun with Owen.
Lovin bath time
Sportin his new shades before we stroll around the park across the street
And REALLY enjoying some chocolate pudding! Like mother, like son.
After driving to Salt Lake to finish Daniel's green card renewal, we decided to stroll around Temple Square for the afternoon.
Owen loved all of the spring flowers and birds
Glad we have this free time together!
On good weather days, we've hit up the driving range/golf course, hiking trails, shops, etc...
Daniel patiently taught me how to use a driver again...it's been a few years
Owen liked crawling around at the driving range while we hit a couple buckets with Aunt Hannah and Uncle Michael
After putting it off for waaaaay too long, we finally decided to cut Owen's hair. I loved his long, fuzzy hair, but it definitely looks less homeless now that it's trimmed a bit.
Nice bangs :)
Owen surprisingly sat quite still while we used the clippers
Dad making the finishing touches
Now my boy looks so much older!
And finally, we stayed at Chad and Sondi's for a week while they went to Florida. That week included Mother's Day, and Daniel and Owen showered me with love and pampering. Daniel let me sleep in, made me breakfast, and took care of Owen all day before I could even get the chance to step in and help! I also got a shopping spree and a massage for gifts. Not too shabby!
I'm so lucky to be a Mom to such a happy, fun, energetic, and sweet boy. I love my Owen. (And I love his teeth in this last picture. I see braces in his future!)
Love my boys. Happy Mother's Day to me!
PS. Owen is almost 11 months old and has taken a few steps on his own! He walks all around the house with his walker and has started taking steps over the last week or so. His favorite words are Dad and Dog. He occasionally says Mom, but not as much as I would like! He is crawling all over the place, loves to open and close doors, climb all over Mom and Dad, eat anything he finds, and bang anything that makes a sound. Like I said before, I love my boy. :)
Later!
Kt
