Daniel got home from his mission to South Africa on Feb. 29, 2008 (Leap Year). So, to celebrate his "first" anniversary home from the mission, I went to SA Meat Shop in Calgary and bought biltong (jerky), boerewors (pretty much sausage), pap and sauce and made Daniel a legit SA dinner. He was pretty surprised when he walked through the door and saw a bag of biltong with his name on it. BOO-YAH!
The food may not look all that appetizing, but that couple looks pretty delicious.
Speaking of food, Owen's favorite snack of late is the mighty Cheerio. I couldn't be more proud. I've been eating Cheerios everyday for breakfast ever since I started college. When I was really poor, I also ate Cheerios for lunch and dinner.
Upset because he dropped some of his Cheerios on the ground and Ma threw them in the garbage.
I'm undecided about when and how I'm gonna cut Owen's hair, but it's lookin pretty desperate for a change!
Until that landmark first haircut occurs, we'll be trying some style experiments. Here's Owie sporting the "Justin Bieber".

...And like all of his hairstyles that we attempt to glue down, the Biebs didn't last long. His fluffy, defiant hair on the crown knows no other direction than vertical, apparently.
We made a trip to Elbow Falls to enjoy a warm weekend. Now that Owen's older and summer is approaching, we hope to hit up some more beautiful trails. His first hike was somewhere up in Palisades (Idaho) when he was around 8 weeks old.
He was soooo tiny in the backpack! You can't even see his head!
Now he's big enough to actually be awake and look around and enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery.
Owen started crawling during the first week in March. Now he loves to crawl over to the window in the mornings and watch what's going on outside. I'll try and upload a video of Owen crawling once I can figure out YouTube. (Very computer challenged!)
We went to the Car Show in Calgary and Daniel had a great time lusting over some of his dream mobiles. Owen seemed more interested in the metal and fabric "barriers" they used to keep people from touching the cars.

Ford had a talking, walking robot which caught Owen's immediate attention and captivation.
Owen and I look pretty swag in this ride, eh?
Only 2 more weeks til we move back to the States!!!!! So excited to start another chapter of our life!
